Sarah Acosta Headshot

Sarah Acosta MPH, RDN, LD - Director, Benefits & Wellness, Harris County, TX

Sarah Acosta serves as the Director of the Benefits & Wellness division within Harris County's Human Resources & Risk Management department. Since beginning her career with the county in 2007 as the sole wellness coordinator, Sarah has transformed the employee wellness program into a comprehensive initiative serving approximately 43,000 employees, retirees, and their dependents.

Her achievements include implementing the county's first incentivized health plan, establishing an onsite employee clinic, and launching the annual HC Employee 5K event. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Food & Nutrition from Texas Tech University and a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences from The University of Texas Health Science Center. She is also a registered dietitian and certified group fitness instructor.

Victoria Spencer, MS, CWP-Wellness Manager, Harris County, TX

Victoria Spencer is the Wellness Manager for Harris County, where she plays a pivotal role in developing and managing wellness initiatives for county employees. With a Master of Science degree and certification as a Certified Wellness Practitioner, Victoria brings a wealth of knowledge to her position.

She has been instrumental in organizing events such as the HC Employee 5K and has contributed to the enhancement of the county's wellness programs. Victoria's commitment to employee wellbeing is evident in her efforts to create engaging and effective wellness strategies.

He has shared his insights at industry events, including the Wellbeing at Work Summit, discussing the creation of human-centered workplaces in the era of Return to Office (RTO).
